Through perseverance, grit, and tenacity, and with buy-in from the Mayor’s Office, airport senior leadership and key strategic partners, I established the Atlanta Airport’s inaugural international business unit.

I am an active board member of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, the Atlanta-Montego Bay Sister Cities Committee, and am a volunteer-instructor to airport managers in several developing nations including The Gambia, Malawi, Liberia, and Suriname just to name a few. Having trained over 3,000 airport leaders worldwide, what gives me joy is knowing that I have touched the lives of so many who are now touching the lives of others, as well as finding it immensely rewarding mentoring young women on their way up.
In 2017, I received the Aviation Trailblazer Award (the first and only female awardee) from the Airports Authority of Jamaica, Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority, and Aeronautical Telecommunications Limited. That same year the Georgia House of Representatives in HR 843 commended me for “outstanding public service.” In 2018, I was honored as one of the Atlanta Tribune’s Women of Excellence in the State of Georgia. I have been involved mainly in the private sector and feel the need to develop a more robust involvement with the diaspora here and in Jamaica regarding the issues that relate to us where we live and work. I feel with the opportunities that technology has uncovered, we can form a more impactful relationship with our local community and Jamaica. I, like many other professionals, have stayed away from being a more active participant however with the recent changes at home, I like many others feel it is time to be more involved – with that in mind I present myself as a nominee to the board of the Jamaican Diaspora.
