ALRENE RICHARDS BARR
With more than 28 years with the City of Atlanta Department of Aviation, I collaborate with the Mayor’s Office of International Affairs and various regional economic development partners to enhance international business relationships for the City and the Airport. I created and implemented Hartsfield-Jackson’s Sister Airports Program, oversee its international outreach efforts and serve as the Airport’s liaison for the Georgia Consular Corps. Through perseverance, grit, and tenacity, and with buy-in from the Mayor’s Office, airport senior leadership and key strategic partners, I established the Atlanta Airport’s inaugural international business unit.
I serve on UNITAR/CIFAL Atlanta’s Airport Program Planning/Steering Committee, Metro Atlanta Chamber’s Global Commerce Council, Welcoming Atlanta iSpeakATL Taskforce, Georgia Council for International Visitors and Middle Georgia State University Advisory Council.
I am an active board member of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, the Atlanta-Montego Bay Sister Cities Committee, and am a volunteer-instructor to airport managers in several developing nations including The Gambia, Malawi, Liberia, and Suriname just to name a few. Having trained over 3,000 airport leaders worldwide, what gives me joy is knowing that I have touched the lives of so many who are now touching the lives of others, as well as finding it immensely rewarding mentoring young women on their way up.
In 2017, I received the Aviation Trailblazer Award (the first and only female awardee) from the Airports Authority of Jamaica, Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority, and Aeronautical Telecommunications Limited. That same year the Georgia House of Representatives in HR 843 commended me for “outstanding public service.” In 2018, I was honored as one of the Atlanta Tribune’s Women of Excellence in the State of Georgia. Most recently, I was selected to serve as one of just 12 cultural competency trainers for the City of Atlanta’s 8,000 employees.
DR. ALLAN CUNNINGHAM
Dr. Allan Cunningham is a self-taught business entrepreneur. Beginning at the age of 8 years old when he first started selling Kisko pops in downtown Kingston.
A product of Whitfield all age and Camperdown high school, he has truly demonstrated the virtues of community enrichment.
As a proud past student of Camperdown high school. He has contributed by serving as vice president, and President of the Florida Chapter for 8 years.
Dr. Cunningham is also a Board member of the Parent Community Task Force of the Broward County School Board. He also served on the board of the coalition of alumni association In South Florida.
His love of community and people led to the creation of the People Profile
organization. He created the organization so persons could share their personal life stories with the express purpose of educating, inspiring and motivating others. This Idea also led to the birth of the pinnacle award ceremony in South
Florida, the People Profile awards.
January 5th , 2018 was declared “Dr. Allan Cunningham day” by Vice Mayor of Broward County Dale Holness. Dr. Allan Cunningham is an associate Professor/Lecturer in the field of International Business. He currently Lectures in the department of Management at a local University.
His academic achievement includes a Doctorate in International Business,
Masters in Management and a Bachelors in Psychology with a focus on Family Therapy and Substance Abuse education.
He is married to Judith and the family has six beautiful daughters and a
Michelle Traceyann Fanger Florida license attorney. She practices in the areas of Immigration and Florida Family Law. Being a born and bred Jamaican her greatest and heartfelt desire is to aid with the uplifting and rebuilding of her little island home. With this goal, Mrs. Fanger has volunteered her time by being involved with The Jamaica Diaspora Legal Task Force, The Jamaica Diaspora Crime Task Force USA and The Jamaica Diaspora Immigration Task Force. Mrs. Fanger sits as a board member of Jamaica United Inc., a nonprofit organization in Jacksonville Florida, that raised funds yearly to assist projects in Jamaica.
Mrs. Fanger was born in Montego Bay, St. James and was raised in Hague, Trelawny. She attended Falmouth Infant School, Wakefield Primary School, Westwood High School and Montego Bay Community College. She attained her Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in economics and Master of Business Administration in New York. Mrs. Fanger relocated to Florida to attain her Law degree and to raise her family.
Michelle Traceyann Fanger is a committed servant of her community and has been actively involved assisting Jamaicans at home and abroad.
I am an IT professional for the last 20 years. My area of focus in mainly financial software and financial algorithms. I have been involved mainly in the private sector and feel the need to develop a more robust involvement with the diaspora here and in Jamaica regarding the issues that relate to us where we live and work. I feel with the opportunities that technology has uncovered, we can form a more impactful relationship with our local community and Jamaica. I, like many other professionals, have stayed away from being a more active participant however with the recent changes at home, I like many others feel it is time to be more involved – with that in mind I present myself as a nominee to the board of the Jamaican Diaspora.
Mark Jackson is the Chief Wellness officer for The Diaspora Health Group, and Owner of Omega Wellness LLC based in Sarasota Florida.
A Morant Bay and Wolmers Boys high school graduate. Mark moved on to complete his BA at Long Island University Brooklyn and Masters in Social Work at New York University. Mark has been instrumental in leading the paradigm shift in health care, towards disease prevention instead of symptom management.
A current resident of Florida USA, Mark along with Managing his Wellness company he donates
his time by hosting a monthly ESRD support group locally.
Through his efforts with Omega Wellness as well as the Diaspora Health Group Mark has been shifting the way we approach the disease process. Understanding that our health is our biggest asset, he has been using the latest in technology to measure our bodies antioxidant levels. Using this test allows us to find out who among us is most at risk from oxidative stress and promotes
interventions prior to the unset of a disease process i.e. cancer, diabetes heart disease.
Mark is Married to wife Dr. Janis Lawrence-Jackson and has a seven-year-old daughter and two-year-old twin son and daughter.
Mr. Mullings is the Founder and CEO of Blue Mahoe Capital and served as the first Future Leaders Representative for the USA on the Jamaica Diaspora Advisory Board. He has been active in the community since 1996, focusing on inclusion and unity. He was part of the organizing committee of the first and only Future Leaders Conference in 2009 and also served on the board for the Institute of Caribbean Studies which coordinates Caribbean American Heritage Month each June.
He currently sits on the board of advisors for the Caribbean School of Data, funded by Google.org at the Mona School of Business and Management in Kingston. He previously wrote a weekly Sunday column for the Jamaica Observer focused on economic development and politics.
He completed his B.Sc. at 19 and his MBA at 22, both from the University of Miami. He is from Kingston, Jamaica.
